Alberta Blue Cross | CDHCI Program

We are an approved service provider for the Client Directed Home Care Invoicing Program (CDHCI) offered by Alberta Health Services (AHS).

Alberta Health Services has introduced a new program that puts you in control of your home care choices. With the Client Directed Health Care Invoicing (CDHCI) Program, you can choose the home care provider that best fits your needs and the government will cover most of the cost through insurance.

As an approved care provider, Genuine is here to help make your journey easier. Once you’re approved for the program, we can help you get set up and make sure you understand the coverage. We will handle all the billing directly with Alberta Blue Cross, so you can focus on what matters most.

The following criteria will determine your eligibility for this program:

  • You are an Alberta resident with a valid health care card
  • Your needs can be safely met in your home
  • You meet the requirements determined by an Alberta Health Services case manager

Depending on where you are in the journey, there are two different options for how to move forward.

  • If you have an AHS Case Manager,  you can contact them directly to discuss your eligibility and then submit your application for CDHCI to Alberta Blue Cross.
  • If you don’t have a Case Manager, call 811 and speak with AHS Community Home Care. They will then arrange for a Case Manager to assess your needs and allocate home care hours. Once this is in place, you can submit your application for CDHCI to Alberta Blue Cross.

WCB Alberta

As a contracted provider for Workers’ Compensation Board – Alberta (WCB), we can provide care to support you through a workplace injury.

When workplace injuries occur, WCB Alberta provides programs to support your recovery and successful return to work. For severe injuries that require personal care at home, WCB Alberta may arrange care through a contracted healthcare agency when appropriate.

As an approved WCB provider, Genuine can deliver care services when recommended by your case manager.

Based on your injuries, your WCB case manager will confirm your eligibility.

If WCB recommends Genuine as your home care provider, we will work with you to build your care plan, and coordinate the paperwork directly with WCB.
